Cumberland Chapter Water Committee
The Cumberland Chapter’s Water Committee works on protecting the water resources in the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
Mountaintop Removal coal mining practices in Eastern Kentucky bury streams, Concentrated Animal Feeding Operations (CAFOs) in western Kentucky contaminate drinking water resources, and coal-fired power plants throughout the state pollute our streams, lakes, and rivers with mercury and other toxins. Currently, every body of water in Kentucky has been placed under a mercury advisory.
