About Kentucky Sierra Club

The Sierra Club is the oldest, largest, and most influential grassroots environmental organization in the United States. We are 1.4 million members and friends working together to protect communities, wild places, and the planet itself. The Cumberland Chapter is the Kentucky Chapter of the Sierra Club. We work to explore, enjoy, and protect Kentucky. Conservation issues that currently hold high priority for us include stopping the practice of Mountaintop Removal, protecting our local farmers and food supply from an unmitigated influx of Concentrated Animal Feeding Operations (CAFOs), protecting Kentucky's air and water quality, and guarding our protected wildlands from harmful and abusive use. We explore and enjoy Kentucky through our outdoor adventure programs which offer a variety of excursions through Kentucky's beautiful outdoors, led by certified Sierra Club Outing Leaders. These trips which vary in length and difficulty from a short wildflower stroll to weeklong biking or backpacking trips. And most all of these outings are free. Join us!
